The fibers are positioned in loose tubes that are made of high-modulus plastic and filled with tube gel. The tubes (and fillers) are stranded around a non-metallic central strength member(FRP) to form a cable core. The core is filled with water blocking compound and armored with corrugated steel tape(CST). Then a LSZH outer sheath is extruded.
